where you go picIf there is one thing I love about God is that He always is giving us glimpses. From the very beginning I see them; words on a page, whispers in the night, and in dreams and visions.  They come like flashes of light, a brush against your shoulder; in seconds they are gone, but leave a lasting impression. They leave us with questions to ponder. They leave us with “gut” feelings. But most of all, they are usually a guide on the Map of the Ancient Path.

He is intentional.

He has always been intentional.

Since time was marked by His grace of creation, He gives glimpses…

I believe the Beginning gives us tremendous insight into His heart; then Jesus the Man, crosses the threshold of time and we see another glimpse; thirty-three years of His Father’s heart, lived out.

But there is one more mark on the map called The Ancient Path that gives us something more. We receive more than just insight or information; we see the depth…something we may not be used to. Humanity deems itself complex, but when compared to God, we are simple. His depth knows no bounds; we are but shallow waters.

In this depth, we see a glimpse of just how far He will go. Always refusing to interfere with free will, we see just what this God will do for those He desires and calls to Himself…

Glimpses of a Hill called Golgotha

Glimpses of rough hewn wood called a Cross

Glimpses of love called Jesus…

There on top of a mountain a Cross was placed, waiting for the One who would come to scorn its shame. One that would defy the natural for He belonged to the Spiritual. He only chose to become flesh so the world would know Him, yet they knew Him not.

Glimpses…

A moment in the Garden. A prayer of submission, and one final act of Life begins to unfold.

He was beaten beyond human recognition. His flesh; marred and scarred. Yet His bones did not shatter; they did not crumble, and He, Jesus the Man, did not waver…His resolve stood firm in the strength of His Father.

Intentional…

As He carried my sin, your sin, down into the depths, He brought forth a testimony of Resurrection.

It was all planned from the foundation of the world, and was put into motion with the Fall…

Intentional…

Yes, the heel would be bruised, but there was One coming that would crush the head…

Glimpses…

An intentional mark on the map of The Ancient Path can be found on a Hill; called Golgotha. It is a guide that brings us to a cross.  Which way will you turn? Which way will you go? Will you travel The Ancient Path?

Will you say a prayer of submission? It is costly if you do; you will carry a cross as well. But in the end, you will also carry a testimony of resurrection…

Me, well I choose to be a traveller on The Ancient Path, carrying my cross.  All the while  finding Glimpses of an intentional God and holding out for a testimony of resurrection…

May you be blessed this Resurrection Sunday…
