“The Watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me; the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me”…Song of Songs 5:7

Eve pic

Eve, the first woman ever created and the only woman to live within the full knowledge of  God,  is worthy to be considered. She is worth your time, for she has much to say…

It would appear that on the written page, this woman seems quite shallow. But hidden between the lines of the written Word lies the mystery of Eve. Her life once deemed fruitless is overflowing with great instruction and guidance.

Her footsteps have been found and once followed we will see the vast and Godly life she lived; even after the fall.

 Woman…

No other name could envelop the glory of the created female.  In the beginning, it spoke of all things beautiful and holy. It was to hold a reflection of perfection and magnificence.  It spoke of a sinless state of life and creation.

Woman…

It stirred the heart into a fullness of satisfaction and wholeness.  It is a name that brought forth significance, contentment, and enjoyment…

Woman…

It envelops our identity and security in our created being.

I have stated before, I find it hard to fathom the name Woman being enough…to me it is mind boggling to even begin to picture Woman and her qualities set forth in righteousness as intended. Her relationship with God, and Adam as her helpmate; life being lived in harmony with all things…it all becomes a quite stunning picture once you consider it.

So sit back and close your eyes and ponder.  Use your imagination and let the Holy Spirit bring forth a picture of this period of creation…

In The Beginning…

It would seem as a fairytale most certainly took place; for we know good and evil struggled. And for the moment, evil has appeared to win.  But we know, something happened along the way. A war broke out and something horrific took place in the Garden that day. An encounter with a “wounder of souls” transpired.  A robber of gender, a game player calling a bluff…

In the beginning, there was a serpent…

The murderer of identity smote Woman with one blow.  He seized a moment using twisted words and found in his grip her covering…

The “wounder of souls”  stole her veil…

And with that; it all came tumbling down.  God said we could no longer reach out our hand and partake of both trees. His tree carried life.  His tree brought forth the fruit of His character.  His tree held the shade of His shadow. His tree literally brought the presence of Himself.

The veil of Woman ripped from her hands would only to be returned to us as a fabrication of the former glory of Woman.

The wounder of souls masquerades as light. He poses questions simply to encounter us. Nothing has really changed from that moment in the Garden has it?

I have often wondered how this deception could have happened? Why Eve?  How could you be so deceived?  I’ve asked many times…

“You were sinless…You knew God fully…You walked with Him day in and day out. You lived in perfection and in the realm of Perfect Love…Nothing was out of order, Eve…nothing”.

“I delight to sit in his shade, and his fruit is sweet to my taste. He has taken me to the banquet hall and his banner over me is love”…Song of Songs 2:3-4

Woman was created in the fullness of the Bride and the Bridegroom relationship.  Life in the Garden was the original intent for creation.  We were designated to live in the full knowledge of God. That was His intention.  We were never to live beneath a judgment. We were to only eat the fruit of the Tree of Life…and with each taste, we were to know Him more…each day was to bring about more knowledge, more revelation, more love for the One who created us. We were to live protected from the knowledge of good and evil…that was something we were never to know.

But the “wounder of souls” seeks to devour.  He seeks to steal our veil.  He seeks a death quite similar to his own…

It is vital we understand the creation of Woman and her qualities and then begin to celebrate our creation as God intended.  We must seek to return to the intimacy of the Garden.

Now, we must labor to find rest.  We must travail in our pain to overcome the wounded soul.

But just as sand washes away with time, so has our unique creation called, “Woman”.  She has been lost somewhere in the deep, waiting to surface once again.

“The watchmen that went about the city found me, they smote me, they wounded me, the keepers of the walls took away my veil from me…” Song of Songs 5″7

I believe this verse accurately describes the wounding of the name Woman.  The “wounder of souls” has taken advantage of something holy and gave it over to the depraved mind of man.  In return, we have laid this gracious name on the altar of Baal.  We ourselves have become food for a hungry humanity ensnared by this “wounder of souls”.

We have all too willingly become a sacrifice in the name of acceptance and love.

Our veil of glory and honor has been stripped away and it has left us naked and vulnerable to a sinful civilization.

The wounder of souls has stolen our identity.  He lies in wait with only a demented imitation of the Garden, the veil, and the beginning…

We must endeavor to find the original intent of our given name; Woman.  We must take back what the “wounder of souls” has stolen.

We must once again wrap ourselves in the veil of Woman and find healing for our wounded souls.
